Episode Recap_First Air Date 011811

I am skipping over the first case of today's episode and only doing the second one.
Plaintiff - Ashley Lueddecke
Defendant - Michael Timmons

Okay so we have the plaintiff (to be known going forward as Ms L. - since I am too lazy to spell her last name) who is suing supercool Mr Timmons for his DUI lawyer fees.  This is a tough one for me to since I have zero sympathy for those who drive drunk - thus they should pay their own DUI expenses.  Plus, this Timmons dude looks like such a douche with his stupid beaver tail growing off his chin.  Ugh, I want to sue him for 5 grand just for making me look at him for 15 min.

However, Ms L. loses my support almost immediately.  A fairly pretty girl, she is plagued with the most unfortunate lisp ("Yeth, your honor").  Did her parents not know that speech therapy exists?  Now she gets to go through life sounding like Daffy Duck.  Ultimately though, it is her stupidity that loses it for me.

Judge Judy asks this bright pair who the designated driver was supposed to be that night.  Although Timmons is sucking down booze before they even leave for the party, Ms L. says he was the DD.  He, on the other hand, clearly has no clue who was DD - which tells me that this prize usually just gets loaded and drives himself home, or just thinks that someone else will drive his drunk ass home.  Either way, he doesn't look like he ever thinks about who the DD is - as long as it ain't him!

In the course of her questioning, I can tell that Judge Judy is tiring of Ms L.'s voice - who is desperately trying to explain how the money was a gift and not a loan, how he promised to pay it back, how he insisted that he was OK to drive that night, .... blah blah blah.  I just find myself wondering when she is going to launch a tirade onto Bugs Bunny ("It'th rabbit theason!").

Verdict:
Judge Judy feels that since they were both acting irresponsibly (Ms L. witnessed Timmons tip down cocktails yet she gave him the keys to her car to drive them home), that she can kiss the approx $1900 she is suing for good bye.

I totally agree - you don't sit there and watch your supposed DD (a DD who had no idea he was the DD!) get drunk and then allow him to drive you home.  As Judge Judy stated, they are lucky that they didn't kill someone.  Idiots...
